Stokes Berry Farm
Stokes Berry Farm is a family berry operation, conveniently located in Wilmington Ohio. Dale Stokes planted his first black raspberries on the 230 acre farm in 1962, and is now the largest grower of this fruit east of the Mississippi. He works with his wife Jane and his son Mark, and daughter-in-law Stephanie.
Dale has not only been a passionate farmer, he has also actively collaborated in research on breeding programs to improve plant and fruit quality, as well as the health benefits of black raspberries that have been shown to help prevent some forms of cancer. Markets include “Pick-Your-Own”, and harvesting for freezed-drying to make a raspberry powder used for cancer patients.
